MIT Media Lab: $250K Disobedience Award – Nominations Now Being Accepted

Nonviolent civil disobedience plays a vital role in American democracy. If all three branches of government cannot effectively check and balance governing powers, if the media (Fourth Estate) fails to use its power to investigate and report in a way that curbs political corruption, then it falls to ordinary citizens to do the job. Activists, protesters, and dissenters are the last standing patriots, the last fighters, the last defense, the last heroes.

In honor and support of the wisdom, courage, commitment, and self-sacrifice of those who commit nonviolent disobedience, to defend and benefit society, MIT Media Lab has launched the Disobedience Award. Nominations are now being accepted…
