@JerryBrownGov, @JenningsCara out to #StopRickScott (@POTUS’ job)

A short video I made about Governor Scott and his most recent antics. Maybe his multi-million dollar corporate funded PAC will respond to this too! #StopRickScott

I’m grateful to Cara Jennings and California Governor Jerry Brown’s attempts to #StopRickScott, but really must point out – yet again – that stopping Rick Scott is the responsibility of the FBI, Department of Justice and President of the United States, because “failure to keep from harm” is a federal color-of-law crime.

Florida’s mismanaged prisons are – demonstrably –  intentional killing fields, industrialized into generating profits for predatory privatizers and vendors … profits that consist of Floridians’ tax dollars as well as the after-tax dollars of inmates’ families and friends; profits that will be taxed at a lower rate than ordinary citizens pay, if at all.

Florida Attorney General Bondi’s legal efforts to keep the Sunshine State off solar power and on fossil fuels are consistent with Rick Scott’s climate change denial, a denial that has cost many Floridians their livlihoods and some Floridians their very lives. Asthma kills, and solar power does not cause it.

I don’t for a minute believe that Barack Obama’s letter writing skills are inferior to Jerry Brown’s, and I do very much believe that all it would have taken was a couple of well-written letters from Obama to have Rick Scott voluntarily leave office pending FBI investigation and DoJ prosecution, which is the only way to guarantee the safety of Floridians.

But we best not hold our breath for any letter to our governor bearing the president’s seal.

President Obama took a sip of Flint water this week, essentially endorsing Michigan Governor Rick Snyder’s intentionally poisoning purchasers of municipal water. Perhaps the president is planning to come take a dip in the nearby Saint Lucie River – often deadly from agricultural waste-laden Lake Okeechobee discharges – to endorse Rick Scott’s intentional poisoning of the river, the Indian River Estuary and the Atlantic Ocean.
