Aramis Ayala files to challenge Jeff Ashton for state attorney in 9th Circuit
Orlando lawyer and law school professor Aramis Ayala has filed to challenge fellow Democrat Jeff Ashton for state attorney in the Orlando-based 9th Judicial Circuit.
Ayala, who is a former assistant state attorney in that office, said she is running because the office has a structurally cumbersome set up that makes it inefficient in “keeping the community safe and providing justice.”
The lawyer, who also was a public defender and in private practice, also has provided legal commentary to one of the Orlando TV stations, Fox-affiliate WOFL.

Florida’s ninth judicial circuit – Orange and Osceola counties – has been corrupt for decades. Please don’t miss an opportunity to turn the page.
