I’d like to believe that former Florida legislator Paula Dockery doesn’t know the half of it when it comes to abuse, neglect and torture within Florida corrections facilities, and that her not knowing the half of it fully accounts for her belief that an op ed is helpful.
It isn’t.
The “what’s wrong this picture” phase of assessing Florida corrections is over. It’s clear that Rick Scott is acting under Color of Law to violate inmates’ rights rather than acting under rule of law to protect them, which is leading to additional harm and additional deaths. Scott needs to be charged, and tried.
