@FLGovScott going after Planned Parenthood, not Corizon and Wexford. #DeadInmates

Offender Picture

Increasingly endangered witnesses (both inmates and corrections personnel) have said that the outside-controlled shower closet that Dade Correctional Institution corrections officers used to scald Darren Rainey to death in 2012 was used several times to punish other mentally ill inmates.

Privatized healthcare provider Corizon was definitely involved in overlooking this torture without reporting it; it may be that Wexford was, too. To be sure, neither healthcare provider is held to any standard of safety in Florida, let alone the universal “highest standards of safety” that Governor Rick Scott lays claim to in his ridiculous press release, below.

Malnourishment, rotting teeth, untreated injuries, intractable pain of unknown origin – and more – are all okay for Florida inmates per their no-standards-at-all healthcare providers.

While letting Darren Rainey’s and other inmates’ murderers walk free, Rick Scott waging war on Planned Parenthood over doctored videos hammers home my point about Florida needing an impeachment process. Senate President Andy Gardiner and House Speaker Steve Crisafulli should immediately announce that they have changed their single-issue Special Session into a three-issue session: redistricting, reforming prisons and ridding ourselves of governors that serve themselves, rather than Floridians.

Governor Rick Scott: We Are Investigating Planned Parenthood Offices in Florida

On July 29, 2015, in News Releases, by Staff

ORLANDO, Fla. – Governor Rick Scott announced today that he has asked the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) to immediately begin investigating the 16 Planned Parenthood offices in Florida that perform abortion procedures to ensure they are in full compliance with the law.

Governor Rick Scott said, “The videos coming out about Planned Parenthood are deeply troubling to say the least. It is against the law for any organization to sell body parts. I asked AHCA Secretary Liz Dudek to begin immediately dispatching staff from their licensure office to evaluate the 16 Planned Parenthood offices in Florida that perform abortion procedures to ensure they are in full compliance with the law. If a Planned Parenthood office is not following the law, we will move quickly to take legal and regulatory action against them. We hold our healthcare organizations in Florida to the highest standards of safety and we expect them to fully comply with the law at all times.”
