Edward Snowden Bust Appears in a Brooklyn Park

Unknown artist activists placed a bust of Edward Snowden atop a memorial pillar in Brooklyn’s Fort Greene neighborhood park.

The artists who installed this bust of Edward Snowden have not been identified, although some group anonymously posted a message online justifying their actions. [They say] that they updated this monument to highlight those who sacrificed their safety in the fight against modern-day tyrannies, and it would be a dishonor to those memorized here not to laud those who protect the ideals they fought for. They believe that Edward Snowden is just the man who also fought for some ideals and sacrificed his safety for the sake of safety of others.
