Oregon Ghost/Florida inmate Jacob Barrett has ended his hunger strike, but that doesn’t in any way signify that he is out of danger … Florida kills inmates by medical neglect, and by guard-on-inmate violence, and gets away with it.
I expressed my initial concerns to a variety of parties in my February 13 email, below. My clinically damaged memory had me insert the wrong name in the body of my email, but any confusion that the email’s recipients initially endured would have been cured by clicking on the link I provided. I’ve received nothing other than automated responses from Florida Governor Rick Scott’s office and the Portland, Oregon FBI office.
My new concern is this: it seems that Ghost inmates from other states aren’t being entered into Florida’s Department of Corrections website, which – aside from discriminating against the inmates and their families – serves to bring out-of-state inmate transfers even closer to the public’s perception of a rendition by taking them off the radar of reporters like the Miami Herald‘s Julie Brown as well as whistleblowers like George Mallinckrodt and Gary York, who share the goal of holding Florida’s Department of Corrections accountable for unexplained deaths. New FL DoC Secretary Julie Jones apparently has no such goal; she imposed a gag order on corrections investigators, apparently without upsetting Eric Holder.
Please sign this petition: it is important that inmates’ friends and families can apprise the public via social media – sans censorship – of what the Prison Industrial Complex is up to. If you have time, please share this post, too. Stonewalling isn’t a public service anywhere, and we somehow have to make it clear that we’re fed up with it. Thank you.

Subject: Oregon’s Ghosts in Florida prisons
Please direct to the attention of Jamie Breyman,
Office of Population Management Administrator.
Dear Administrator Breyman,
I am writing to apprise you of a blog post I published this week about Jarrett Brown [Jacob Barrett] (link below), and to ask that you to make emergency beds immediately available to all inmates serving their Oregon sentences in out-of-state prisons, focusing first on those incarcerated here in Florida.
If you read The Oregonian, you already knew that Florida prisons are unsafe (link below).
Please apprise me of your intentions regarding making emergency beds immediately available for Jarrett Brown and anyone else you have sent here, as well as your intentions regarding Ghosts that Oregon shipped to other states (if any). Thank you for your time; I look forward to your response.
