Gay Rader had called Melbourne police about a half-hour before the shooting. She said she thought her son was drunk and suicidal, and might have had a gun …

Florida Department of Law Enforcement investigated the case, as is standard procedure after an officer-involved shooting.

—————————————–

This year, there have been two more Brevard County suicides-by-cop. They were predictable, and therefore preventable.

Predictable in that new Brevard Sheriff Wayne Ivey formerly worked for the Florida Department of Law Enforcement in Brevard, and was completely comfortable with statistically anomalous suicides-by-cop, even those where officers brought guns to knife fights, instead of their tasers.

Preventable in that were Florida Today actually in the news business, they’d have reported – pre-election – Ivey’s untoward comfort level not only with suicides-by-cop, but public corruption that’s so pervasive that skewed trial outcomes are almost a certainty – including George Zimmerman’s.

Florida Today is obliged to report all the grisly reasons why this wrongful death suit should be a class action.
