While Blue Walls of coordinated police corruption are as common (and welcome) as head colds, Blue Moons are as rare as responses from public servants that resonate rather than rankle … kudos to New York City Council Member Gale Brewer for personally addressing the NYPD’s behaviors towards Occupy Wall Street protesters.
Anyone wishing copies of the related correspondence Brewer forwarded is welcome to email me at wobblywarrior@earthlink.net with “send copies” in the subject line.
And for anyone wishing to know when the next Blue Moon is … it’s August 31st, 2012.

Dear Council Member Brewer,
I very much appreciate you taking the time to respond to my email.
It was gratifying to learn that you have gone on the record to object to the NYPD’s treatment of OWS protesters. The response you received from the NYPD was disappointing, but not surprising. There is much in the news that indicates that upper level changes in management need to be made; the wide scale planting of drugs to make false arrests betrays an ominously criminal mindset.
Again, thank you for your response, and for standing up for yourself and your constituents.
Regards,
Susan Chandler
I adore your writing, Susan. When is your book coming out? Maybe I should set up my oiwn publishing house, just for “The Unworthy”.
Regarding this story about planting drugs, John Lennon wrote a song about this subject, did you know?
I also like to honour those who do the right thing, but those who trangress ignore my insistence they retire in favour of the righteous. THis has now come close to home, invlving yet another care worker. The UK’s care service caused climate change, I decided today. Please write your next blog about them! But your soulful reality in the middle of the night brought the right kind of music. The geese are flying over your way now from here. Say hi to one!

Thank you, Aruna, for your humor and kindness. I’m considering publishing my book as an e-book in three parts, because the title lays claims to sinking a ship of fools, and so far that ship is only taking on water, and its bilge pumps are still working.
The UK’s care service is outside my knowledge, and I didn’t know that Lennon wrote a song about planted drugs. When I own my time, I will explore so many things! I will greet any geese that come my way, celebrating the strength that lets them cross seas.
